Scholarship Program

The Warrior-Yoga Scholarship Program exists to grant scholarships to eligible Veterans to become certified as Registered Yoga Instructors (RYT-200), and then develop on-site yoga programs for their fellow employees or within their own community. This program also provides transitional housing (up to 30 days) and employment search.

This innovative program developed by John Szczepanowski, himself a career Marine Veteran, owner of Hot Yoga Santee and Lisa Barlow; Chief Operator Officer, ACE Certified Personal trainer, offers many benefits, such as:

  • Uplifts eligible Veterans within the corporate/community environment.
  • Supplemental income.
  • Small business leadership and guidance.
  • Empowering other Veterans as well as the community with positive mental and physical fitness.
  • Reintegrate, once equipped with new holistic coping skills, connection with others Veterans and encouraged to participate and integrate back into their communities with a better position to succeed.
  • Employment anywhere in the world.
  • Scholarships are 100% tax-deductible.

How It Works:

Step 1

Corporations can either nominate a fellow Veteran or opt to sponsor a Veteran.

Step 2

Once our candidates are sponsored they will attend our Warrior Training Program, where Veterans are trained to become Registered Yoga Instructors as recognized by the Yoga Alliance (the governing body).

Step 3

The residency consists of 200 hours of instruction with a Certified Yoga Teacher-Trainer, under the supervision of the Laura McIntire E/RYT-1000

Step 4

A veteran may return to the Site and complete additional certifications as needed thought their career of instructing and may volunteer additional time to empower future veteran candidates within their own community. (Free workshops, expos etc).

All scholarships directly benefit the Veterans who train with us to cover all costs, including:

  • Tuition
  • Course materials
  • Certifications and all associated fees
